Alt-R&B/pop singer, who goes by the moniker SILKIN makes her way to TWIB with this eclectic soulful single titled “Here.” The track is a nice fusion of R&B, soul laced with some pop sensibilities to match. Backed by a lush guitar-driven soundscape, SILKIN delivers a mellow, melodic performance that is quite alluring and insightful too. She explores the concept of time as it relates to one’s personal journey. Everyone sure has an idea of where they ought to be but how to get there is a whole different story. SILKIN approaches it from a reflective viewpoint as she looks back to the past and relates it to the present and how all the dots do line up in some weird manner. On another note, she doesn’t try to go over the listener’s head with abstract anecdotes but rather simple scenarios that everyone can latch on to.

A native of Los Angeles, SILKIN is Hanna Kim, an alt-R&B/pop singer, songwriter, and self-taught producer who counts Boys II Men, Norah Jones, and NIKI among her biggest influences. Her music explores how her upbringing as a Korean American has shaped her identity and relationship to love. She released her first single, “Cold,” in 2017 and joined Go For Gold Music Group in 2019.
