Brooklyn-raised hip-hop artist  SERIOUS VOICE is charting her own musical journey steeped in her Christian faith and conscious lyrics that aim to give listeners some form of spiritual awakening. From her 2021 album Beautiful to her forthcoming EP Back2Basics, the emcee is bringing something refreshing to the game. Her newest release titled “Kill Tha King” is a candid and insightful track that is inspired by prophet Samuel’s warnings of idolatry. SERIOUS VOICE juxtaposes the passages with the modern world and how we all have fallen deep into the abyss of alcohol, unhealthy sex and worldly validation. Over the bouncy and commercially appealing backdrop, she delivers her lines with a cool, calm and collected cadence and hit us with the hard truths without being preachy.

The accompanying video was directed by Kareem Caines who help bring the song to life with its cinematic touch. Shot in the middle of the famous Miami Beach where all sorts of worldly behaviour congregate, the director helps SERIOUS VOICE to show viewers the true depictions of the world’s evils and implore us to confront these vices head-on.

The award-winning rapper has released her sophomore album BEAUTIFUL to affirm women globally. She recently captured the attention of Sway Calloway of “Sway in The Morning” and was given the opportunity to perform during a live taping of his morning program at SXSW in Austin, TX. She also garnered a placement with Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It season 1 for her WOAH song featuring Mr.C. To date, she has received press from national publication ESSENCE MAGAZINE, ThisIs50.com (50 Cent Run Blog) and a number of other publications. In March 2016, her music video for Thirsty, was showcased at SXSW, via the Wix.com Film Showcase which was attended by tens of thousands.
