Leesburg, Virginia raised artist Ryan Oakes started making music in high school as an alt-punk rock musician who fell in love with hip-hop as well. He currently has 4 EPs and 4 full-length albums under his belt. His most recent EP The American Dream is the perfect blend of rap and pop-punk, with his love for the latter beginning in childhood when, aged just 10, his band performed Fall Out Boy songs at their school’s graduation party. After 10 years of independent releases, Oakes finally decided to ink his first deal with Position Music, choosing to partner with LA-based indie label Position Music.

His newest release titled “Wake Up” is an aggressive and passionate record that showcases his unique songwriting that blends his own life experiences with elements of self-growth, emotional pain and young adult angst as he rages against the capitalistic music industry while reminding everyone that he is here to stay.
