London, UK producer Rory J Brown and vocalist Scarlett Fae have teamed with Oogies up for this brilliant offering titled “CMD Z.” The summer-tinged feel-good song is just what we need in these crazy times and the duo sure deliver the goods with surgical accuracy. Bolstered by warm, ethereal sounds and a punchy drum arrangement, Fae comes through with her sublime melodic runs and honeyed vocals that grip the ears alongside Oogies offbeat melody-laced flow. The pair detail the aftermath of a broken relationship and give their respective perspective on the matter.
The production is quite solid too and very dynamic as Rory blends jazz, neo-soul, and some hip hop elements to make quite an engaging backdrop for the vocalist to really flex their range.
