NY-born rapper Not Shakespeare started off writing poetry and music in her teens and slowly developed her eclectic sound. Her latest release “1997” is a semi-autobiographical tune that explores her humble beginnings when life was less stressful compared to being an adult with self-doubt and inner demons. Over the moody and experimental backdrop, she runs through her numerous experiences as she journeys through life to find true self-fulfillment. Her flow is laidback, and distinct and blends spoken word mechanics into her repertoire which makes it stand out.
