Nate Shines returns to our pages with his brand new single “Easily Paid” which displays the rapper’s smooth flow and calm demeanor over a retro-tinged reflective soundscape produced by RnB legend Jon B. “Easily Paid”  as the title suggests is about putting in work to get the results needed, which is something we all can relate to in many ways. The track starts off with Kruz who opens the floor with the lines “As I step on the mic like I step on the court/Pair of Nikes and I’m ready…” and takes the listener deep into his go-getter mindstate. Shines, on the other hand, shows his time-tested flow on the second verse and wraps it up with his characteristic mellow flow as he states his claim “In the new milleni, things be getting gritty/ In the city, gotta get paid in full like Eric B…“. Rife with solid flows and a solid soul-tinged boom-bap backdrop “Easily Paid” takes the listener back to the golden era of rap without losing the plot.

With a large library of unreleased tracks, Nate is in the early stages of dropping his catalog of music. This may be an introduction to Nate’s smooth rap styles, but he has been making music for years. Formerly releasing music under the name N8E, you can hear Nate’s vocals on albums like Galactic Soul (featuring Jazzy Jeff, Will.I.AM, and Cee Lo), and Jon B’s “Cool Relax” (featuring 2Pac and Babyface). We’re not sure where he’s been at all these years but from what we have heard so far we are anticipating some upcoming heat.
