UK producer Liston puts out this free collection of beats in anticipation of his upcoming release on XVI. Avid readers of Word Is Bond will consider this more of a reminder than something new; about a year ago I dropped a mix from Liston, who’s name was inspired by Lonnie Liston Smith, featuring some of these beats. The York native has kind of progress on from this sound (future funk, he now calls it), but hip hop will remain at the core of what he does.

I actually was fortunate enough to spend some time round Liston’s abode just yesterday, when I brought my double bass round and we jammed and he showed me how to make cuts in Virtual DJ! He is a really cool guy, and his beats are an equal manifestation. So, check it and support!
