Emerging indie rapper Leek Mali shares his new EP, Summer Forever,  and a visual for the title track to boot.  The 4 track body of work explores his life through different lenses over soulful backdrops and evocative lyrics. The title track is a reflective piece ripe with soulful textures and a heartfelt lyrical performance by Mali. He takes time to reflect on his journey as a young man straight out of college and hoping to make something out of his life. On “Welcome To the Palace” he teams up with Jordan Ali for a nostalgia-inducing piece that dives into personal demons and his daily struggles. He teams up with “Kings atlas” which has an uplifting and somewhat hopeful perspective as Mali goes for a smooth soulful backdrop to dwell on the good life far away from the drama and craziness that surrounds him. Trumpeter Brandon Woody joins him on the final cut “Sent2u” which also features singer Tadiwa who delivers an interesting tandem performance alongside Mali. Mali flips the script from his rap verses to offbeat melodic runs that match Tadiwa’s ethereal performance.

Summer Forever is Leek Mali’s ode to freedom and was completed during the final weeks of him graduating from college and serves as a reminder that he now has the world in his palms.

As an indie rapper, his first set of releases came in 2020 when he dropped a handful of singles such as “Party Time” and “400+ Years”, the Prince George’s County, Maryland, native is not slowing down and is currently working on more music.

Summer Forever is available to buy/stream now on all platforms here. Check out the self-directed visuals for “Summer Forever” below.
