Roots Of Society member Karamel Kel has been blessing us with impeccable instrumental (notice how I refrained from using beat-one brownie point for me)  tapes for sometime now. This new release titled Vast EP doesn’t stray from my expectations with the usual elements; break beats, choppy sampling, lush textures and luring compositions, one thing it does is showcase Karamel Kel in a whole new light for me. I have digested his older works and even used them as part of a compilation and comparing them to this shows a slight progression or rather a change in direction if you may.

The opener ‘Gentle’ has to be my favourite as everyone should know by now that I’m a sucker for melancholy/nostalgic soundscapes. Enough of that, I recommend ‘Vast EP’ for avid instrumental project consumers. Tune in and weigh in your thoughts.

“Vast EP” is Karamel Kel’s second release with Roots of Society Records, following his first album “Heavenly Dream”. This is a 8 track hip-hop/jazzy hip-hop instrumental album. We hope you enjoy.
