Rapper/producer duo K-Prez and J. Depina caught our attention with their focus track “Recoup” that focuses on real-time issues and then some.
The production by J. Depina is very sublime and reflective too. He makes use of a smooth vocal-driven soul sample and layers it on neck-snapping drums to good effect. K-Prez comes through with his grown folk style and shares his thoughts on a myriad of issues ranging from self-growth to maintaining a steady work ethic. With lines like “Ain’t no walking in my sessions without proper shoes, all these propaganda poppin on the fucking news/I’m just thinking wondering what Tupac would do” he gives us an insight into his thoughts.
