Uprising rapper JustiKe shares new 3-track EP entitled iKeludes::2. The body of work is a snapshot of life from the black perspective and JustiKe’s own experiences as he traverses this modern world.

The first track, “MAYA ANGELOU,” explores growth, self-awareness and resilience. The production has a soulful and somewhat ethereal vibe underpinned by punchy drums and emotion-laden raps. Here, JustiKe talks about trials and tribulations and how perseverance and an indomitable spirit gave him the strength to push through. Lines like “By insecurities got finessed outta my spot. Still lending me grace, I can never pay back. Opportunity waits for me to accept. That I done earned every blessing. In the midst of regrets” underscore his experiences and give audiences a glimpse. This is followed by “uDWN?,” a heartfelt piece that sees JustiKe sharing a special moment with that special person. Armed with a laidback and somewhat nonchalant flow, he describes a day well spent as he and a loved one seize the day and enjoy each other’s company with no care in the world. The final track, “N4L” evokes a feeling of euphoria and is brimming with a dreamy and atmospheric soundscape and sees the rapper in his element as he talks about his journey from nothing to something.

Overall, the EP keeps it short but consistent when it comes to the sound and topics. It feels like a precursor to a larger project, but all we can do is wait and see.
