NY emcee Jimi Tents put his city on his back and ran with it on his new song “Phone Down“. He spits verbal darts at the industry sharks and fake emcees alike.

Phone Down” is a continuation of his 5 O’Clock Shadow stand-out, “Landslide.” Produced by The Vamp, the freestyle puts Jimi’s lyrical dexterity on display over the outro beat from the previously released single, “Landslide.”
Jimi Tents has been redefining New York hip-hop with his bona fide “jazzy soul, Kendrick-style dexterity, Brooklyn bravado, and seen-it-all wisdom.” (Pitchfork) Earning a spot on TIDAL’s Rising 2016 list of “need-to-know up-and-comers,” Jimi was recently featured on Foot Action’s “Family Cypher” and his previous single “Should’ve Called Pt. 2” has quickly racked up over 200K streams on Soundcloud and garnered praise from the likes of XXL, HotNewHipHop and Revolt TV, to name a few. Keep an eye out for Jimi’s sophomore project, dropping spring 2017.
