Jay Dutch recently put out his new LP Sorry, Don’t Think We’ve Met which got glowing reviews and now he returns with the visuals for the song “About That Time”. The track which is the third track from Jay’s album is an aspiration anthem that captures Jay’s work ethic and his determination to make it to the top. He gives listeners a glimpse into his life and asserts his status with lines like “This shit like my fate is in my hand, it’s really up to me / Attracted to whatever that I am, I let it come to me / I meditate, my lap is to my hands, know God is love in me”. He is joined by fellow rapper BiiG Dreams who details the ups and downs of being independent but for the most part, he is able to control his destiny.

The visual directed by Muskaan Zaidi  was shot over a year ago but after some setbacks, it is finally seeing the light of day. It follows a young Jay as he tries to work his way behind the scenes and get the short end of the stick but with his relentless spirit, he finally makes his way on his own accord. The video also serves as a visual manifestation of Jay Dutch’s life, in real-time living that double life depicted in the music video: as a musical artist and as a filmmaker.
