Emerging rapper Jay Ali is a lesbian and bi-racial act who caught our ears with her thought-provoking single titled “America The Great.” The track has a solemn feel and crunchy drums that serve as the perfect backdrop for Jay Ali’s unapologetic and heartfelt lyrics.
She doesn’t mince words and acknowledges who and what she is with lines like “ain’t no secret when it comes around, it’s hard for me to stand up/ I’m half black, a girl and a lesbian, got no handout.” Far from being a sob story, she faces the truth and comes to terms with the situation.
