Seasoned bassist Jamey Arent may not ring a bell immediately but the man has quite an impressive resumé that includes playing lead guitar for Frankie Valli, Matthew Morrison, Spencer Day and more. Backed by years of working behind the scenes, Arent is currently preparing to drop his debut project and has teamed up with esteemed producer/guitarist Josh Smith to help make it happen. The very first leak from the project is a funk-laden single titled “How Far We’ve Come” featuring vocalist Raquel Rodriguez who delivers a stunning vocal performance.

“How Far We’ve Come” is very soulful and uplifting with its positive vibes and vibrant backdrop courtesy of Arent and producer Smith who both join forces to create a very marvelous texture that blends the old and the new. “How Far We’ve Come” is taken from Arent’s upcoming debut EP ‘The Backburner’ which is due on the 19th of July. The EP blends blues-rock with jazz-funk stylings and features notables like Nigel Hall (Soulive, Lettuce), Charles Jones (Raphael Saadiq, Vulfpeck) Amber Navaran (Moonchild) and more!
