Bedstuy, Brooklyn-raised rapper Illanoiz wrote his first verse at age 13 when his uncle brought him to a recording session and he hasn’t looked back since. After many ups and downs and a stint in prison, he took time to recollect his focus and now a changed man, he is back making music that reflects his life and experiences. His latest release “Subside” dwells on depression and the resulting struggles that come with it. Over a soulful and reflective backdrop, Illanoiz runs through many scenarios and the daily hurdles he must face in an unforgiving world but despite the odds, he finds that inner strength to push on and manifests his dreams.
