Washington, DC-based artist Holleywood has been rapping and making music since age 12 and even started producing and engineering his own music as he developed his craft. He has worked with more than a handful of hip-hop luminaries ranging from Chi-Ali, Fat Trel, Lord Tariq and others and now he returns with his new single “Get My Mind Right”.
The track is made up of a laidback and reflective pad and solid drum groove underpinned by his candid lyrics that dwell on his own personal growth as an artist and young individual. As the title suggests, it sees him taking steps to find his true North away from the detractors and negative individuals who try to derail his trajectory. The accompanying visual makes use of simple shots, performance clips and seamless transitions to capture Holleywood’s break away from the madness around him.
