Portlan,Maine producer Genius Black is back in the field with a new single “Sheesh” which sees him teaming with vocalist Suzie Assam and rapper Drell. Bolstered by Genius Black’s bouncy and soulful soundscape, the rapper dwells on the daily struggle of being black in America and the craziness he had to endure just to be himself while Suzie adds her own soulful touch to the track with ear-gripping melodic runs.

Genius Black is an artist and music producer in Portland, Maine. Born into an analog world that became digital, he evolved with it – bringing along the best aspects of each world. Genius Black’s music is fresh and classic all at the same time. Naturally a storyteller and motivator, he focuses on collaboration and production as a craft. Genius Black came to Maine to attend Bowdoin College. He studied Africana Studies, focusing on writing and cultural studies. He is also co-director of Black Owned Maine, a social justice-based non-profit, formed in the Summer of 2020.
