A couple of months back Jeremy provoked an interesting question, what tunes are real hip-hop? And the responses were fairly diverse; we got classic instrumentals, a variety of underground hip-hop from Binary Star to Cunninlynguists, battle rhymes, old school, nu school. But what about stuff like Daedelus and Flying Lotus? Is there anything in the mainstream nowadays that people would define as ‘real’ Hip-Hop? Maybe Tyler the Creator is right and we’re all too narrow minded!
