Singer/songwriter Empara Mi has taken her destiny into her hands on the cinematic release titled “Ditch”. The record is built off an operatic vocal sample with gripping string instruments which adds a classic touch to her commanding vocals. Empara Mi takes time to address her past and individuals who tried to hold her back but failed to do so as she realizes her worth and has stepped forth from the mental chains that kept her. The accompanying visual sees her in a risqué funeral type dress as she drives to the top of a hill to rid herself of the things that remind her of the past.
The Guernsey born Empara joins a new wave of fiercely independent artists, showing brazen confidence in both life and art. She has spent the last couple of years refining her skills for when it came to writing for herself, collaborating with producers Andrew Dawson (Kanye, childish Gambino), Rahki (Kendrick Lamar) illangelo (the Weeknd) James Fauntleroy (drake Rihanna) on her forthcoming record.
Empara is a multi-disciplinary artist, joining her background of dance, love of fashion, visual arts and all things Quentin Tarantino to elaborate on her surreal soundscapes with epically dark visual content.
“Ditch” is taken from her upcoming debut album. Get it on Soundcloud and Spotify.
