Erick Sermon of EPMD suffered a heart attack over the weekend but is now recovering. He is being kept at the hospital for a couple of days but hopes to be home by Wednesday. The hip hop community already lost Heavy D this past week and, thankfully, this appears to be just a brush with death.

Sermon is considered to be one of the most influential producers in hip hop history. Over his career, he worked with Redman, Method Man, Too Short, amongst countless others. All that notwithstanding, he’s still one half of the legendary EPMD and it would’ve been too early. Get well.
