Rarely do I praise 50 Cent — actually, I’ve never praised 50 Cent — but, this time, I (kind of) have to. During his tour of Africa, 50 witnessed the hunger problem first hand and he was moved to the point where he wants to feed a billion hungry children. He started the G-Unity Foundation and here are the foundation’s outlines (via StumbleUpon) :

Mission
The G-Unity Foundation will provide grants to nonprofit organizations that focus on improving the quality of life for low-income and underserved communities.

Goals
The major goals of The G-Unity Foundation include:

– Emphasizing the critical importance of supporting academic institutions;
– Supporting nonprofit organizations that focus on the academic enrichment of a child, and
– Supporting after school activities.

As nice as it sounds, the entrepreneur has a trick up his sleeve. 50 mixed his newest venture, the Street King energy shot, with his new-found love of philanthropy. For every shot sold, he will donate a meal in Africa. So far, he’s donated about 2,500,000 meals. Whatever, at least he’s doing something.
