Seattle-based Filipino-American rapper, and spoken word/slam poet Dahlay caught our ears with his new single “suggestions.” Bolstered by the warm and solemn soundscape provided by  OJ The Producer, Dahlay takes us on a journey of self-discovery and growth. Lines like “Happy belated to my ex friends, my ex more thans/Singing praises with smiling faces but of course it’s torturing/Getting ELATED off the basics, I can barely afford this rent/The cost of living is RISING, I’m sorting through all of my ends” underscore his life experiences and perspective on it as he comes to terms with it.

Dahlay is also an amateur ukulele strummer and was born and raised in The Bronx,
