Emerging rapper/singer/songwriter Corey Andrew’s latest project Forever With Love is an 11-track album that explores his duality from different perspectives. The ups and downs he faced in the past, and present and the uncertainty of the future are also explored. The production throughout the project weaves several genres from hip-hop, R&B/soul and even pop aesthetics that underscore Corey Andrew’s versatility as a musician. The album serves as his third full-length project.

The first track “Is This Forever” is an aspirational track that helps set the tone of the project. Backed by an anthemic trap soundscape, Corey Andrew steps to the podium as the quintessential go-getter who is focused on his goals. Lines like “The world in my hands and I won’t/drop the ball, I can’t miss/I worked way too hard, I can’t quit/Everything I did I am doing to get this/God’s the only person who can stop this shit” does help accentuate his stance. This is followed by “Hey Drewski” an experimental soul piece comprising atmospheric textures, downtempo drums, and cinematic sample chops. Andrew takes us on a journey through different stages of his life and the experiences that shaped him into who he is today. “Exit Stage Left” has a pop-infused soundscape with warm synths, cinematic pads and solid grooves underpinned by catchy melodic runs. It is quite a departure from the previous songs and shows Corey Andrew’s versatility as a singer/songwriter. The track is as heartfelt as they come and see Andrew cutting loose from a past relationship. “BS Interlude” is a smooth soulful jam that is underpinned by bravado raps punctuated by subtle melodies creating an engaging ambiance with a solid head nodding factor.

Corey Andrew doesn’t shy from showing his emotions on tracks like “Cant Keep You Around,”  “Among Us” and “Interlude II.” The former is a pop-R&B-infused hip-hop track that is comprised of lush textures, and sublime horns with a mellow groove. Here, he pours his heart on wax as he makes up his mind about moving on. The latter is a celebratory tune that sees him in high spirits as he promises to achieve his goals.  “Interlude II” is a collection of voice notes from some of his friends and colleagues who pour adulations on him for the hard work he has been doing and the positive influence he had on their respective lives. The project closes out with “Forever With Love,” and it’s definitely a solid way to end. The track has a moody and somewhat solemn aesthetic and is underpinned by heartfelt lyrics that dwell on his journey thus far. Corey Andrew shows appreciation for everything he has and everyone who helped him along the way. Other notable tracks include the hard-hitting “On Gawd” and anthemic “For What It’s Worth” featuring JaeEss. These tracks are raw displays of lyricism while on  “Off Da Whiskey,” he delivers a playful melody-tinged track that follows his rendezvous with a baddie.

Overall Forever With Love is a heartfelt letter to self-love, growth, creativity and the future of the man called Corey Andrew.
