LA-based emcee/songwriter Metaphysical returns to the forefront with two tracks, “By Lock & Chain” and “Animosity.”
The first cut, “By Lock & Chain,” is bolstered by a laidback piano riff, punchy drum groove and pulsating bassline and finds the emcee penning an ode to himself. He highlights his flaws, growth and the ups and downs of life. His style may be unorthodox and unique, but the message is clear from the jump.
The second track, “Animosity,” goes down a darker route as Metaphysical tackles the delicate issue of hatred and the intolerance spreading around the globe. The soundscape is ominous and moody, and perfectly fits the thought-provoking message conveyed by the emcee. At the end of the day, it’s a call to action for everyone to make better decisions for the greater good.
