Singer-songwriter Haset enters our site with her new single “Gap Year.” The track is a heartfelt piece that blends modern R&B with soul and jazz sensibilities. Backed by a bare-bones soundscape with minimal percussion, layered chords, sublime horn passes and lush textures, Haset delivers an emotionally punchy performance with her mellow, soft vocal tone. The track explores a situation where one has given up hope in a relationship that is slowly withering away.
Lines like
“Difficult thats what you are
A Conversation turns into a war
With you with you”
underscore the feelings of hopelessness and also the realization that nothing is going to change regardless.
