South London production/singing duo fika is a staple in London’s indie music scene and with many collaborations and live shows under their belt, they are always pushing and expanding their musical scope with every release. Their latest effort titled “Alone” is a splendid collaboration with rising multi-instrumentalist Benedict Quinn, rapper/poet Sami Switch, and vocalist Eddy Luna. The result is a smooth soul-stirring piece made up of warm textures, lush guitar riffs, wobbly basslines, and atmospheric textures layered over soft drum grooves, all crafted by Quinn. The melodic tandem performance between fika and Eddy Luna is alluring and sultry at the same time as they set the tone for the love song. The track details the apprehension that comes with blossoming love as two lovers take baby steps venturing into this new region.

Eddy Luna has had a strong start to her career, signing to DJ Target’s Sony subsidiary “Pitched Up” aWer Target discovered the rising star on Instagram. Having teamed up with producer & MD James WyaR (Lianne La Havas, Eliza DooliRle) on her latest EP, Luna has performed on BBC Three’s “Tonight With Target” alongside LiRle Simz and recently opened for Years & Years at Nottingham Arena.

Sami Switch has built his reputation as one of London’s most in-demand songwriters, rappers & spoken word poets. Previously signed to Sony BMG as a songwriter, Sami works closely with chart-topping producers Billen Ted (Wellerman remix) and co-wrote Wes Nelson’s BRIT certified gold hit “See Nobody”.
