NZ-based rapper/songwriter Chase Woods has been making his rounds with some singles and now he drops the final single “Bedside Table” alongside his EP entitled Better Late Than Never. “Bedside Table” is a heartfelt love song that sees him reflecting on the many attributes of his partner and the little things that she does that makes her adoring. Over a lofi/soul bouncy soundscape, he pours his true feelings on wax with a distinct melodic flow and adulation-filled lyrics. He adds that the song also explores her imperfections and those are the things that drive him crazy in a good way.
“Bedside Table” is lifted off his latest EP Better Late Than Never, a 4 track body of work produced entirely by Shush. The project includes previous releases “Carhartt Jacket”, “Lovesadrug” and “Fine2me”.
Chase Woods Said about the EP: “I wanted to have some fun with this EP and not get pulled into anything too serious. I found myself focusing a lot on the highs and some of the more grounding, stages of relationships. Although it mainly stays on course, when it came to EP track ‘Lovesadrug’, I couldn’t help but be pulled into my go-to writing style, which draws on past experiences and takes a darker edge to sonically uplifting songs.”
