Rising Palmerston North, New Zealand-based artist Chase Woods makes his first appearance on our site with his newest release “Carhartt Jacket”. The genre-bending tune bridges dance, and R&B with hip-hop in his own distinct manner as Chase delivers smooth melodic runs with heartfelt rap lyrics over a thumping groovy backdrop. The Shush-produced song is a homage to his old red Carhartt jacket and the days gone by when times were simpler and love was brewing in the air.

“Carhartt Jacket” is the first single from his forthcoming EP Better Late Than Never which is set to be released on 7th July 2023. The project is written by Chase Woods and produced by Shush, the house rap track is a light-hearted and fun ode to an old red Carhartt jacket.

Chase Woods burst onto the music scene in 2020 and at the end of 2022, released his debut EP Terrace End Tapes which showcased his musical range and established him as one of New Zealand’s most exciting new artists. Off the back of these releases, Chase has been invited to APRA Amcos writing hub on 18th June ’23.
