Antwerp-based rapper Jay Atohoun and singer-producer Willem Ardui known together as Blackwave share the visuals for their first single of 2021 titled “Recluse.” The record is a solemn and reflective look into loss, isolation, and the unpredictable dynamics of love from different perspectives. The production is helmed by Ardui who crafts a soulful and groovy backdrop and also delivers a heartfelt melodic hook as well. Atohoun leads the pack with his impassioned flow and evocative lyrics that dig deep into the finding solace in the silence.

The visuals directed by Michiel Venmans and Jaan Stevens are quite engaging too and have a warm and nostalgia-inducing aesthetic. The visuals follow a family going for a trip and show the viewers the various situations that play out in each character’s mind.
