UK-born, French resident MC Apocraphe takes us back to the true essence of hiphop with this excellent posse cut ” A Paris L’Affaire 2014″ which also comes with it’s special visual treatment. The record which was initially recorded in 2014 sees him working with all ten members of the infamous French group L’Affaire. The anthemic boombap styled production serve as the perfect backdrop for these staunch rap conosseurs as we get to hear the different styles from rappers Lomepal, Mothas La Masquerade, Bhati, Tonio MC, Nostal, Black Sam, K.E.T.U.R., Saïd Baxter, Yoch, and SPL. True to their nature, they don’t leave any stone unturned and deliver the goods in excess with vivid evocative rhymes, stylish cadences in French and English which gives the tune an extra sauce especially for those of us that understand Française. Shouts out to producer Nat Powers who crafted the elegant beat while Pierre Stone  jazzes it up with his trumpeting skills.

The video has a street art aetshteic laden with retro elements that blends well with the gritty sound and lyrical style of each emcee. The seamless cut scenes and visual text effects do go a long way in tying everyone together. Each emcee gets ample screen time with unique colorisation and coordination.

“A Paris L’Affaire 2014” is the first of 4 singles to be released before Apocraphe drops his album The Escapist Handbook in May 2021. The project is a 15 track body of work dedicated to escapism in these dire times we live in. Features include  Jahnell (a.k.a Johny Pitts), Spanish lyricist Dax Santos, emerging French-Cameroonian Afro-Trap artiste Dirtsa and more.
