2025 will end up being a remarkable year for hip-hop, as fans have seen a major resurgence of legacy acts, ranging from Slick Rick, De La Soul, and Rakim putting out new material. The most prominent is the ongoing legend has it music series by record label Mass Appeal, which has put out projects from Slick Rick, Mobb Deep and Raekwon and the forthcoming Big L album. Still, on another note, Wu Tang’s Abbot, The RZA, unveils the new single, “Open Ya Eyes” with Big Daddy Kane.
This is a return to form for both artists since they first worked together on “Afro Cameo” on the Afro Samurai Soundtrack. Handcrafted by The RZA and Mathematics, “Open Ya Eyes” carries on the tradition of Wu’s raw, cinematic soundscapes coupled with Big Daddy Kane’s charismatic flow and vivid lyricism to create a brilliant, hard-hitting cut filled with insight and gems for listeners to pick up.
“Open Ya Eyes” is the lead single from Bobby Digital Presents: Juice Crew All Stars. The project is billed as a reunion and marks the first official Juice Crew release in decades, and opens up yet another glowing chapter in the history of hip-hop. The EP will be released on 11.14.25 via 36 Chambers/DNA Music Group/Hitmaker Distro.
