DJ BLKLUOS x Tabz SOS – “DIRTY WORLD”

Hard working producer DJ BLKLUOS and longtime collaborator Tabz SOS return with “DIRTY WORLD,” a dark moody piece that breaks down modern society and the decay we are all living in. From loss, death, mistakes and unfortnate characters who got trapped in the system, Tabz SOS delivers a heart wrenching and vivid depiction of life. The track’s chorus samples the classic Nirvana single “Smells Like Teen Spirit” which adds an extra emotional oomph to the track.

 

Grizzy Hendrix – “The Rap Game Dead” (feat. C.O. Beatz)

“The Rap Game Dead” is an unapologetic and raw review of the modern rap game where glitz and clout chasing means more than the art itself. Over a cinematic and bouncy backdrop, Grizzy Hendrix and C.O. Beatz share their thoughts in the issue without holding back.

 

Solomane x M1 – “Free My People”.

 

“Free My People” is a call to action for everyone to be aware of what is gong on in the ongoining Israeli-Palestine conflict. Over a dark and brooding backdrop crafted by Solomane, emcees M-I, Sa-Roc, Nejma Nefertiti, and Yasmeen Quintana give their 2 cents on the matter. The track is in collaboration with the German humanitarian non-profit organization Clean Shelter, which works to improve sanitation conditions in Gaza,

 

Hak Black – “Holiday”.

Emerging singer/songwriter Hak Black‘s new single “Holiday” is a heartfelt adulation filled tune about being neck deep in love with that special someone. The production has a hip-hop bounce with future R&B vibes with warm melodies and a cathcy chorus.

 

Sargeant X Comrade – “Glasses”

Alternative/experimenatal producer/singer duo Sargeant X Comrade unveil their new piece titled “Glasses.” The track fuses retro-jazz with modern trap and showcases raw Billie Holiday style singing with expressive raps that dive into the concept of dispelling negative thoughts and the power of positivity.

 

 

Born I – “Equinox”.

Washington DC-based artist Born I returns with “Equinox,” a reflective piece brimming with ethereal soundscapes and heartfelt insightful lyrics that explore the ups and downs of life and the journey to finding his true purpose.

 

C.Shreve the Professor – “FRESCO”

C.Shreve the Professor and producer Frank THE Phre$h present “FRESCO,” a bouncy lyric-driven piece that sees the rapper flexing his lyrical muscles beyond the norm. Over a classic punchy drum break, cinematic smple chops with moody textures, C.Shreve the Professor  proceeds to tear down the booth with raw, unadulterated raps.

 

 

NilexNile – “Eddie Kane”.

Milwaukee Wisconsin-based alternative hiphop artist NilexNile steps into this week’s playlist with his latest single “Eddie Kane.” The track is an upbeat anthem with no-holds-barred lyricism and expressive flows

 

Slicki – “Blessed”

Canadian artist Slicki teams up with Rockie Fresh and big mike 1904 for his latest release “Blessed.” A heartfelt and celebratory cut that is anchored on a gospel vocla sample, lush keys and punchy drums.

 

 

Brandon Mitchell – “We Already Won”

“We Already Won” is the final track from Brandon Mitchell’s new album, Gametime.  The track uses Sports metaphors with trials and tribulations and sees Mitchell in the centre as he proceeds to battle inner demons and external forces trying to derail him from his goals.

 

 

 

 

Nemo Nebbia – “MEZCAL”

French rapper Nemo Nebbia makes his debut entry on our playlist with his new single “MEZCAL.” Over a bass-heavy, pulsating synth-driven backdrop, he delivers a fiery performance ripe with reflection and insight as he looks at life and the emotional journey through doubts and losses. Through it all, he acknowledges that the path is never smooth and only being bold and resilient would go a long way.

 

Genesys – “Like Dat”

NY-based rapper Genesys‘s new single “Like Dat” is a bouncy track underpinned with boastful raps and a bravado demeanor.

 

ivannascassette – “Big Deal”

UK singer/songwriter ivannascassette takes us back with this retro-tinged R&B/hiphop infused track “Big Deal.” The production evokes the early 2000s with a modern twist and a distinctive melodic performance that is rap-inspired. She is unapologetic and confident all the way.

 

Memnoc – “C-BELOW”

 Palmdale Ca.-based rapper Memnoc steps into this week’s playlist with “C-BELOW,” a hard-hitting, no-holds-barred lyric-driven track that is brimming with wit, wordplay and internal rhyme schemes.

 

Lex Leosis x callmestevieray – “Aint No Way”

Canadian rapper Lex Leosis and LA-based callmestevieray deliver their new collaboration titled “Aint No Way.” The mid-tempo soulful cut is the perfect anthem for being true to oneself in this age, where faking it is the norm. The track is led by Lex Leosis, who stands on business, reminding detractors that she is not folding to pressure anytime soon. callmestevieray also follows up with a melodic flow and a verse that reinforces the duo’s stance on integrity.

 

 

SV x Alyssa Jane – “Discourse”

 

Alternative hiphop duo SV and Alyssa Jane return to the forefront with “Discourse”. a heartfelt and introspective piece that explores the never-ending wants and desires, and fears that never go away. The production has an ethereal soulful feel that blends with Alyssa Jane’s soft melodic runs and spoken word-styled raps.

 

Joznez x Kataem – “FEAST”

Joznez and Kataem enter our playlist with the anthemic collaboration “FEAST.”  The track dives into the mindset of a winner who is ready to go all out despite the odds. The production is dynamic, edgy and punchy while the emcees hold nothing back as they prepare to fight to the very end.

 

 

 

Luukhanyo – “Open Casket”

South Africa, Cape Town native Luukhanyo enters our playlist with his latest release “Open Casket.” The soul/funk/R&B infused track sees the singer embodying his true self with an unapologetic outlook. Bolstered by rich guitar licks, warm chords and heavy bass-driven grooves, Luukhanyo steps into the limelight unashamed and ready to face the world as it comes.

 

 

 

 

Maleek Berry x Tiwa Savage – “4 My Body”

 South London-born Afrobeats singer/producer Maleek Berry recently released his debut album, If Only Love Was Enough, and now he shares the Tiwa Savage assisted “4 My Body.” The track is a contemporary R&B/afrofusion track that explores the trepidation that comes with blossoming love. Tiwa Savage leads the track with her sultry vocals, questioning her lover’s veracity and urging them to be honest. This is followed by Berry’s lilting vocals, which show raw vulnerability and emotions.
