Born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Uprising rapper Quincy Jamal moved to Atlanta, GA, shortly after the murder of his father, Kenneth Brown (an upcoming rapper based out of New Orleans, LA). After spending the majority of his childhood in Atlanta, GA, his mother decided to relocate to Orlando, FL, where he got into music and started writing at a young age.  After appearing in our Top Ten Submission playlists, he returns with sme singles from his stash.

The first track,  “Ms. Independent,” is a tribute to the special women in his life. Jamal pours adulation on women who move through life with purpose, ambition, and confidence. From the ones quietly building in the different sectors they occupy and holding down the family, and the ones grinding daily to keep things together.

The second track “Shepherd’s Pie” is a heartfelt tribute and eulogy to his late mom. Over a soulful and solemn backdrop, Jamal bare shis all on wax and give audiences a glimpse into his mother’s life and the lessons she gave him before she had to go. The track is filed with pain, joy and closure as Jamal unpacks all the emotional weight from losing her and uses it as a way to come to terms with the loss.
