Canada-based acts Teon Gibbs and IAMTHELIVING team up for this genre-bending record titled “Translation.” The duo who are of different origins, Gibbs is originally from Botswana while IAMTHELIVING is from the UK has found a home in Vancouver where they can fuse their creative powers with ease. Their new release “Translation” is a fusion of soul/pop/hiphop and funk blended in the duo’s unique manner. The record details the ways to find a connection between two people who are attracted to each other despite some other barrier that may be lying in their paths.

The track is lush and somewhat engulfing with its layered dreamy textures and punchy grooves. Gibbs delivers a smooth melodic run that is impassioned and expressive as he also fuses his native Setswana language to spice things up. IAMTHELIVING also comes through with his smooth sultry rap flow and evocative lyrics. “Translation” is taken from IAMTHELIVING and TEON GIBBS forthcoming six-track EP titled JNGLout June 1st 2021.
