Multi-talented singer/songwriter Yoji‘s debut album, Explorations In Emotions, is currently in the works, but in the interim, she shares the lead single “Cabin In The Woods.” The track was written in collaboration with Borealis (the songwriting/production duo of Atli and Emil) and stems from a real-life experience of anxiety and the effects of Cabin fever. Over a sublime, ethereal backdrop comprising moody pads and mellow tones, Yoji recounts the terrifying feeling of being stuck in one’s own abyss. Lines like “Thought I was safer inside/I was caught up in my mind/Pulling myself from the ground/Thought I was lost but I’m found” underpin the suffocating feeling of isolation and eventually a slow climb into liberty as she finds inner courage to break free.
The album Explorations In Emotions is executive produced by Nico Bryant, who also goes by the name 2Thousand5. Nico also mixed Cabin In The Woods, helping shape its immersive, intimate sound.
