The C&K Street Series features Commoners and Kings performing impromptu spoken word poems on the streets of Southern California. GUEST POET, Deacon Blair, San Diego Grand Slam Champ of ’08 and ’11, meets up with me at a park not to far from his crib. He describes himself as a poet, recovering emcee, philosopher, and play cousin who by the way recently released a double CD of hip hop and poetry that will be available on Bandcamp soon. He spits one of his signature pieces MARIO, a piece that analyzes a classic nintendo game and how it parallels life.
