Eclectic genre-bending artist VC Pines follows up his 2023 debut album MRI with a brand new cut titled “Break.” The rousing alternative pop-soul offering is ripe with crunchy drums, warm solemn textures alongside subtle guitar licks and moody pads which are underpinned by VC Pines’ distinctive vocal runs and a soul-stirring hook. The record comes from a personal place and looks at self-destruction and isolation from a deeper lens where the victim struggles with their emotional balance and the fear of hurting their loved ones. VC Pines unapologetically details his emotions, pouring his vulnerabilities on wax.  The title itself has layered meanings, from a break from the never-ending emotional cycle or the time when one reaches the proverbial tipping point

He adds that the track was written during a period of depression while grappling with guilt over caring for an ill friend and that also informed the emotional trauma in the song.

Diagnosed at 17, Jack’s epilepsy became a lens through which he made sense of his past and embraced his creativity. This perspective has become an integral part of his songwriting, allowing him to connect deeply with his audience and transform personal struggles into universally resonant art.
