The music video format has been around for decades, through the 90s and 2000s, and it has taken flight from multi-million dollar budget music videos to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but highlight some creative visuals that pop up on our radar.

Xzibit – Kingmaker
After releasing his new album Kingmaker, Xzibit returns with the official video for the title track. The track “Kingmaker” brings the album to a close with a solemn and hard-hitting backdrop and it’s brimming with insight and heartfelt lyrics about loss, sacrifice, and the ultimate revenge being success. Heralded by director and Cinematographer Ovie Etseyatse, the visual is as cinematic as they come and sees Xzibit in his element as he takes the stance of a world weary man who has sen it all.
Puma June – “Nobody”
Toronto-based alternative R&B artist Puma June unveils the visual for her song “Nobody.” The track is a sulrty and insightful piece that explores themes of body autonomy, self-love and worth and taking back the power from patriarchal-induced shame. The visual directed by Arden Grier is a motif driven visual with engaging set pieces that shows Puma June in her element as she progressively finds her true self.
Black Sherif – “One”
The Ghanaian super star Black Sherif teams up with COLORS studio for the performance of his song “One” as he prepares for his shows in London and Birmingham.
