New video from Los Angeles based Hip Hop Collective Shadows of Society is what you are viewing right about now. It is their visual representation of the single, Unapologetically Black released in January. Unapologetically Black by Shadows of Society explores the current socio-political state of the nation, with themes of Black Pride and the enduring mindset of the common black man in America. It is great to know that conscious hip hop is still alive and it’s young people who are using it to engage their peers and community at large. I must say though that the expected LA flow isn’t prevalent in the collective at all. Each emcee is rather unique (not to quote AZ) and that really is a good look for the clique.
