“Born in a Barn” is the second single from producer Odd Numbers‘ forthcoming Ep, Colours. The solemn tune sees him teaming up with Dublin rapper Flynn Johnson and the result is a blend of soulful sounds and insightful lyrics to match. Odd Numbers crafts a soulful and reflective backdrop ripe with warm keys, lush pads and a bouncy drum groove while Flynn peppers it with his emotive style of rapping. Flynn dives into the modern-day issue of apathy, aggression and introspection as regards today’s generation. From commitment issues to a lack of community among everyone while they deal with internal problems, Flynn paints the most vivid picture of how the world has truly changed

The single is the second of five tracks that will be included in Odd Numbers’ upcoming EP, Colours. Funded by the Arts Council of Ireland, the project is an exploration of Jazz-Hop and Neo-Soul and will be the first official release on the producer’s newly established label, Golden Éire Records. An artist-focused venture, Golden Éire Records aims to connect the dots between the country’s numerous cliques and collectives — serving its audience with a highly curated selection of music, live events, and video content showcasing the best that Ireland has to offer.
