Brooklyn-based, Montreal-born singer/songwriter Miranda Joan and Manchester-based pianist, composer, and producer Matt Wilde teamed up in the UK to bring us”Like You.” The piano-driven ballad traverses the world of modern jazz with a contemporary feel and showcases Miranda Joan’s vocal range and knack for penning heartfelt tunes that go beyond the surface. Bolstered by rich, layered piano chords, soft drum grooves, Joan takes us on a journey filled with joy and bliss. She reflects on the emotional rollercoaster that comes with discovering true love and safety with someone, only to be perturbed by the opposite. The track is not so much a sad tale, but rather dives into the gradual change that comes with time as the euphoria wears off and the comforting feeling of experiencing true love, even if it’s for a short time.
