I have heard beats made out of junk and what have you but this right here is something of the chain. Malek, a producer we featured some months ago hit us up with this demonstration clip of him making a beat out of pencils. I don’t mean sampling pencils sounds to make a beat but rather craft a beat from the ground up with recorded sound bites from kicks, snares to hi hats and all. I won’t go further, just hit play for further explanation.

School’s back in session, but while everyone’s hitting the books, California’s very own Malek is hitting the pencils. Known for his out of the box approach to constructing tracks from the ground up (he famously produced an entire track using a Pepsi bottle), the wunderkind producer is no stranger to fresh concepts; having won the producer showcase ASCAP I Create Music Expo in April has allowed the world to discover his talents. In light of this steady success, Malek, who’s well received album Opus garnered much attention from fans and taste makers alike, has maintained his humble status through appreciating all of his fans output. Are only question now is what can’t Malek use to make beats?
