St. Paul, MN emcee Ken-C teams up with hard-working NY producer Kidd Called Quest for “Never Give You Up, a” personal and reflective homage to the culture of hip-hop and the individuals who laid the foundation. Over the soulful and cinematic backdrop laid by Kidd himself, KenC takes us back in time with a special dedication to the artists who shaped him while looking at his own personal struggles and triumphs. The opening lines “Michael Jackson was God, Makaveli was Jesus/Nasty Nas was a prophet, he invented the Ether/Biggie Smalls was a legend, Scarface was a preacher/Lil Kim was my crush, can’t forget about Trina” help set the tone and listeners are transported into the rapper’s world from a contemplative perspective.

“Never Give You Up” is the follow-up track from Ken-C and Kidd as their other single “Vanilla Ice” recently dropped here.

Both tracks will appear on the duo’s forthcoming collaborative album, to be titled The Kendrick Cole Project.
