Eclectic singer/songwriter Joya Mooi join forces with Nigerian singer/music producer Lady Donli for this brilliant uplifting track entitled “Only Water.” The track is inspired by famed American athlete/LGBTQ+ and sustainability advocate Greg Louganis, who found sanctuary in water amid HIV stigma. The track is a guitar-laden piece that meshes the soulful punch of modern neo soul with the raw bravado of alternative afropop sounds. Led by Joya Mooi’s sultry melodic runs and heartfelt lines like  “The shadow’s been lifted/All hope, more glory/Please tell my old self/Don’t hide any longer/Suppress to pretend/I will protect who I am,” listeners get a sense of emotional warmth and reassurance. Lady Donli also peppers the track with her pidgin English-infused vocals and reflective lyrics.
