As Multi-faceted Dublin-based rapper/songwriter Flynn Johnson prepares to release his debut album, which is scheduled for the 7th of November, he returns with the second single “MURDER” featuring whoisdays. The self-produced track has a punchy drum groove and cinematic and moody textures, which serve as the perfect backdrop for the tense subject matter revolving around hearsay, rumours and the social-psychological trauma that comes with it. Flynn doesn’t mince his words and gives audiences more than a glimpse into his mind with lines like

I hide, but don’t get too happy
Avoiding the federales
‘Cause real G’s move in silence in Ecko trackies
I rise and extend dramatically
The price of a Freddo bar is
Your wife, she can wrestle hard D
The boys have the heifer tag-teamed

The record is a battle of wits and sanity as Flynn weaves through the back talks, pointing fingers and does what needs to be done to regain his reputation.

“MURDER” is the second single from Flynn Johnson’s forthcoming debut album THE GREEN BOX THEORY, out Fri 7 Nov via Golden Éire Records. The record is a place-rooted chronicle of Dublin 15, described by Johnson as “a love letter to the estate and a thank-you note for the lessons it taught me.” The record is a place-rooted chronicle of Dublin 15, with the green electricity box as its governing motif, tracking how grief, bravado and tenderness shape a community and the boys who grow up inside it.
