Safe to say I am a HUGE fan of Flying Lotus. I feel like his production & aura are on a whole other level, but in terms of new material there’s been zilch – other than the Captain Murphy offshoot, of course – since Until The Quiet Comes. So, to see a collection of free material from the man has got me buzzing (looks like sleeping will be replaced with spinning this tonight). In true Flying Lotus fashion it’s an eclectic mix of rap collabs, beats, trap, electronica-jazz-fusion-stuff, it all gold. Some material you may recognise (two of the tracks were first dropped in Gaslamp Killer‘s Decade Of Flying Lotus mix from ’09!!) and some of it is new. With him confirming that his next album is about to be mastered, here’s a little reminder of what we missed…
