Heavy D, real name Dwight Arrington Myers, died after collapsing on Tuesday, according to reports. The cause of death is uncertain but the 44-year-old-rapper had flu-like symptoms according to Ed Winter, Assistant Chief of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.

Investigators believe health issue played a factor as Heavy D experienced a shortness of breath after returning to his condo from shopping. He weighed over 325 lbs at the time of death.

The Mount Vernon, NY native was born in Jamaica before moving to NY  at a young age. He earned his fame in the ’90s as the head man of Heavy D and the Boyz. You may remember them from “In Living Color” as they did the theme music. He later took up acting earning small roles, including one in “Cider House Rules”.

He leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter. RIP.
