For those of you who have been in tuned with the recent Trayvon Martin case all across the country, you already know what the situation is at this point. There has been riots, civil disobedience, and protests spread across the country. At this point, there is still some civil unrest; no one really knows what’s going to happen next. If you’re from outside of the country, google ‘Trayvon Martin’, and you’ll get all sorts of stuff whether bad and/or good news.
I’m usually the type that’s proactive in stuff like this, but I’ll leave my opinion out of this. Some artists have coined in on the verdict on OKP and thought of this as a race-sensitive case. There have been a few artists who have used their vocals to express their feelings by giving tribute songs to the 17-year-old. Listen to them below…
Pharaohe Monch – Stand Your Ground
Wyclef Jean – Justice (If You re 17)
Young Jeezy – It’s A Cold World
Lil Scrappy – Trayvon Martin
