Manchester-based rapper/producer Alex Luke caught our ears and eyes with his new single “DNA” and its accompanying video. The self-produced track is ripe with solemn piano riffs, lush horns and hushed drum grooves all underpinned by Alex’s laidback flow and heartfelt songwriting that dwells on paternal relationships and his own internal struggles. It is quite touching and reflecting and the addition of vocalist Hayley Brown also adds an extra soulful element as she delivers a soul-stirring melodic chorus to bolster the track.

The accompanying video by Sophia J Carey (Loyle Carner, Little Simz) is as cinematic and scenic as they come and captures Luke’s emotions in their true form and uses a blend of motifs alongside performance shots of the rapper.

Alex Luke’s self-produced EP ‘Star Projector’ lands November 17th, setting the stage for a thrilling headline show on March 29th 2024 (with support from Dámì Sule), at Manchester’s iconic Deaf Institute (tickets on sale now).
